Soft Skills, Effective Communication, and Young Talent: Amina Menni’s Inspiring Talk at La Salle Gràcia
Yesterday, Friday (14.11.2025), I had the opportunity to attend a truly inspiring talk delivered by Amina Menni at La Salle Gràcia, one of Barcelona’s leading educational centres in the field of vocational training. Her presentation not only captured the students’ attention but also sparked genuine interest in understanding what it means today to communicate effectively, work as a team, and develop the soft skills that make a real difference in the professional world.
Who Is Amina Menni?
Amina Menni, a collaborator at www.mediadorconflictos.com, is a professional with a solid international background, specialising in soft skills, communication, leadership, and personal development. Her approach combines practical experience, an intercultural perspective, and outstanding pedagogical ability. She is also the founder of the @managementandhealth project, from which she promotes personal and professional well-being through tools focused on conscious communication, emotional management, and the development of human skills.
Her direct, warm and motivating style immediately connected with the students, who actively participated throughout the session.
What Are Soft Skills, Really?
Soft skills are transferable skills that do not depend solely on technical knowledge but rather on the ability to relate, understand, collaborate, and communicate in complex environments. Among the most valued by companies and institutions are:
- Effective communication
- Emotional intelligence
- Teamwork
- Time management and organisation
- Critical thinking
- Active listening
- Adaptability
- Conflict resolution
Amina clearly explained why these competencies are more relevant than ever: no profession — whether technical, creative, healthcare-related, technological or legal — can thrive without quality human relationships and communication that builds trust.
Keys to Effective Communication
One of the strongest points of her talk was the analysis of what it truly means to communicate well. Amina defined it as a combination of technique, intention, and presence.
Some of her main ideas included:
- Listening before responding
- Observing non-verbal language
- Adapting the message to the person you are speaking to
- Expressing needs without attacking
- Asking open-ended questions
- Caring for the emotional tone of the dialogue
Effective communication is the foundation of any collective project: in companies, public institutions, educational settings, and even community spaces. And as we often highlight in the field of conflict mediation, it is a skill that can be trained and continually improved.
A Wise Decision by La Salle Gràcia: Training in Real-World Competencies
La Salle Gràcia once again demonstrates why it is such a highly regarded educational centre. Its commitment goes beyond offering solid academic content: it includes professional and human competencies that prepare students for a rapidly changing and highly competitive labour market.
Integrating talks like Amina Menni’s into their programmes opens the door to a more complete form of education — one that is connected to professional reality and aligned with the current needs of organisations.
Training technicians with strong human skills is, without doubt, a true mark of educational quality.
