Haven’t been paid what you’re owed? Mediation can help

More and more workers are facing unfair situations: unpaid overtime, miscalculated severance pay, incomplete payslips or direct payment defaults by companies or temporary employment agencies (ETTs).

What can you do if your employer doesn’t pay you what you’re owed?

Taking legal action is an option — but it’s not always fast or easy. Fortunately, there’s a more effective, legal, and much faster alternative: ADR, especially private mediation.

What is ADR and how can it help?

ADR (Appropriate Dispute Resolution methods) — such as mediation, conciliation or arbitration — are legally recognised procedures that allow you to resolve conflicts without going to court.

In cases of wage disputes, ADR can help you:

✅ Recover what is rightfully yours
✅ Avoid long, costly legal processes
✅ Find a faster, less stressful solution

What types of workplace issues can be resolved through mediation?

🔸 Unpaid overtime
🔸 Incomplete severance pay
🔸 Missing wages
🔸 Unacknowledged compensation
🔸 Breach of contract by an ETT or employer

Many of these conflicts escalate due to lack of communication, misunderstandings or bad faith, and can be resolved with professional guidance.

Can I go to mediation for small amounts?

Yes — there is no minimum.
You can choose mediation even if you’re owed €300, €1,000 or any amount.

In many cases, private mediation gets results much faster than waiting months for a court hearing.

Also, if the case does go to court, your attempt to resolve the issue amicably will demonstrate your good faith.

What if the company or ETT refuses to participate?

Mediation is voluntary. However, as a mediator, I can help you send a formal, neutral and respectful invitation explaining the benefits of the process.
Often, this first communication is enough to open the door to resolution.

Need help recovering unpaid wages?

Don’t let time work against you. In employment matters, there are deadlines for taking action, and every day counts.
